The Blister Sisters meet on a Wednesday Evening at 7.30pm in the Car Park at the Light Railway Station. From there we head out for a brief warm up – this is designed to get everyone moving and stretching and ready for action.
Our sessions can then range from just going out for a run- to a speed and agility session. We are normally back at the car park by half 8 where we then do our cool down stretches.
All these sessions have something for everyone, whether a beginner or seasoned runner, these can cover different distances or intensities. The group is non competitive, the only person you are competing with is yourself!
If you are new to running there is nothing to be nervous about – all beginners start with a walk jog programme and gradually build up your fitness. You would never need to worry about not being able to keep up or holding anyone back – our run leaders are there to support everyone and most importantly be there to offer a reassuring helping hand to beginners through those first daunting weeks.
We also have a dedicated ‘Walking Group’ for those not yet brave enough to run, or for heath or injury reasons are unable to. The ‘walkers’ are a really friendly bunch who love the social aspect of getting out in the fresh air for exercise!
As a beginner being part of a group is great motivation, and also you have the reassurance that we all had to start somewhere so completely understand how daunting it can be!
If it’s your first time coming along then please print off and complete the form and bring with you to your first session. If you are unable to (or forget!) don’t worry as there are always copies available for completion on the night!
